“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.”
― Edgar Allan Poe, Eleonora
Are you a dreamer and if so, how adventurous are you willing to be in order to obtain those dreams?
First, let me just say that I’m not, “okay let’s go jump off this bridge with a bungee cord tied around our ankles to see if we survive” adventurous…lol. No, But I do love a challenge and I am definitely a day dreamer.
Picture this in your mind’s eye:
I am a female, I am in my mid 40’s, I am a follower of Yeshua HaMashiach/Jesus the Messiah, I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, and a grand-daughter (Yes, we sometimes have 5 generations of females together in one room at our family gatherings…what a blessing!).
My husband (Who is a Master Plumber by trade) and I have been married for 22 years and we have recently embarked on a new adventure; we have purchased a small Homestead in North GA in the hopes that ,through a lot of HARD work, it will work for us in the long run. We have long dreamed of having land to call our own and
that dream has now been realized! Now we must do our research and, through trial and error, learn how to actually homestead…*Nervous lol!
This blog will be the reported saga of our undertaking which will include learning how to (humorously, I’m sure) milk a goat, taking care of chickens, clearing land for our enterprise (which I will announce at a later date), recipes, and much more.
Let’s face it, we know that this is going to be a challenge for us, but we have never shied away from a difficult task. So, stay tuned for many laughs, learning, blood, sweat, and tears.
As always, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated… you can leave a few words in the comment section below. You can also interact with me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ahomesteadingwomansnotesandthings (You can “like” my Facebook page on the right side of this page)
I look forward to learning from each other.
Now, let the adventure begin!
This is wonderful! I sincerely look forward to reading your blogs! Great Poe quote, btw!
